Course description

This mental fitness program is designed to not only create insight, but to build the mental muscles so we sustain that insight and actually rewire the neural pathways to more positive habits, leading to greater wellness, performance, and Improved relationships. Then we apply techniques to the issues that come up in our circle.

The program is 4 months, meets every other week, is app-supported and designed to integrate into a busy life. The first 8 weeks, we do a bootcamp to layout and experience the concepts, and begin to rewire your mindset. This mental fitness bootcamp is based on insights from neuroscience, performance science and psychology… and meets weekly to strengthen the mental muscles and rewire our habits (+15 minutes practice each day) — see more information on the syllabus below.

 

Who is it for?  You want to better manage the voices in your head and improve your clear-thinking-communicating-and action. You want to improve your performance, and your relationships with your colleagues (and family). And it may also be for you if you feel your purpose shifting.

This is for people who want more than a workshop. You don’t just want the insight, but an evidence-based way to actually change some habits; and you want support in making that long-lasting, substantive change, and want to do it affordably. How you might be feeling/thinking  Sometimes, we tie ourselves up in knots, and those nasty voices in our heads hold us back from communicating effectively, and/or taking our steps forward.  Other times, we race ahead and are bewildered that those around us seem irritated or withdrawn. You want to manage yourself (and your team and situations) through the excitement and stress of these times, with more groundedness and gravitas.

Spring is the time is new growth 🌱and budding energy. It’s a good time to embrace both our focus and compassion, to shift the balance of our inner voices (judging ourselves, others, & circumstances), to reconnect to our purpose, and empower wise action and our own growth.

This program’s approach One of the many incredible things about Positive Intelligence®  (aka PQ ®) and the training that has developed around it, is that centuries of wisdom, plus insights from four branches of science and hundreds of interviews with high performers have been distilled into a deceptively simple and extremely powerful framework.

This helps us become that peaceful and empowered/ing warrior version of ourselves, developing our mental fitness – our capacity to respond to life’s challenges with positive rather than negative mindset.  Think of a jedi knight (Star Wars), or a samurai — wise, calm, yet laser-focused and effective in action.

Time commitment  This program is designed to teach and experience the fundamentals of mental fitness, to build greater understanding-and-groundedness-in-transitions, and to integrate into busy, multi-faceted lives… but takes commitment. When participants do the work, they build the mental muscles to act on that insight, and actually shift to more productive habits and thought patterns.

For 4 months, you commit to your growth, by rewiring your negative habits and practicing, so you grow your mental muscles to handle the turbulence of this fast changing world.

NB: In the first 7 weeks, you’ll be investing ~3 hours/week — it’s the effort necessary to shift habits.  15 minutes mental exercise each weekday + a one-hour video lesson each weekend  + a weekly check-in, called a POD meeting. The POD meetings (small supportive accountability groups of 3-6)  take place on Mondays (or Sun pm) on zoom, are not mandatory, however, those who participate in them are 5x more likely to cement the learnings and evolve their habits.

We’ll build understanding of our strengths & saboteurs + the mental muscles to navigate challenging thoughts, transitions, people and situations, with more grace (and connection to your inner jedi or zen-master).

Syllabus overview: 

For the first two months, we shift to applying the concepts in our lives, and the monthly topic of interest will be chosen by the group  (I’ll share a few suggestions).

  • In our first session, we will do an orientation, meet colleagues and get to DIG (dreams, intentions, goals) into the path we want to lay down and follow.
  • The next six weeks will help you better understand some of your habits, strengths and challenges, and provide the fundamentals of mental fitness. You will be in a small group– with your team, your family, or peers (eg female entrepreneurs, SMB leaders, international execs) — all bound by confidentiality, mutual support.
  • Our 8th week, provides a bootcamp wrap-up and the opportunity to reflect on some of the many ways you might continue your practice and habit evolution.
  • Months 3 & 4  focus on integrating and applying the concepts in our multi-faceted lives, and include two 1:1 coaching sessions.

Your two, 1:1 sessions can be scheduled once the program starts, and whenever you prefer, (although I recommend doing one about half way through the program, and the second towards the end).
