So… after a few projects and before my upcoming vacation, I’m seizing the opportunity to share some updates on what Glocal and I have been up to.  I’ll start with the summary, and share some details below for those with a few extra minutes.

SUMMARY: Lots of developments in the last few years. When you get a chance, check out

➡️Coaching – In the last two years, following clients requests, I pursued a couple coaching certification programs, and have been really enjoying the 1:1 leadership coaching, and small-group, mental-fitness coaching. Check out a few of the testimonials on the newly updated www.glocalconsultantsgroup.com. I work primarily with (over-extended) small & medium-sized businesses’ executives and their teams, who want to improve their internal dialogue, team dynamics and overall productivity.  It’s a tall order in a fast-changing world, and it’s inspiring for me to see their breakthroughs when they do the mental fitness work.

My next small group round starts August 14, with an orientation the week before, and if you know anyone who might be interested, please share my info. The program is designed to integrate into busy lives, but for 8 weeks, does expect the commitment of 15 minutes mental exercise each day (app-supported) + a one-hour video and a 45-60 minute meeting each week (+ optional community discussions).  It’s designed to not only create insight, but when participants do the work, it builds the mental muscles to act on that insight and shift to healthier habits. I’ll tell you a little more about this small group program (August 14, Oct 9 and Jan 15 start dates) in my next email.

➡️Articles – I recently completed publishing a 24 article series on what I call the alphabet soup of corporate citizenship.  It’s about creating the culture and becoming your organization’s version of what the market increasingly demands and the world needs.  You can check out the articles here (free until July 23, then a nominal fee afterwards – please clap👏🏼 if you do, and up to 50x – thank you!), or the summaries on my LinkedIn profile activity.  And in the near future, at both those locations, you’ll see distillations of interviews with C-level execs on related topics.

➡️Stories of resilience – On the resilience note, when you have a moment, check out our other recent Glocal initiative, ExperienceToResilience , launched mid-2020, sharing stories of and tools for personal and organizational resilience. Maybe you’ll even craft a story to share.

➡️ Speaking on leadership in a fast changing world – And finally, I’ve started some public speaking again, which has been fun; have you seen my post on life lessons performing has taught me? Sometimes, the focus is on the types of changes that are happening in the world, sometimes about managing our minds through the change, sometimes about managing our impact (related to the article series).  Glocal has been in an inspired and hard-working evolution. It’s stimulating to channel lessons from my musical, consulting, facilitating and multi-cultural background.

One of my favorite quotes about resilience — both exciting and compassionate.
All of the experiences and the coaching work of the last three years have inspired me to pivot Glocal. We still love the growth strategy, and “combining business processes and analytics with mission mindset and creativity.”  My UChicago heart loves the data; yet, there’s something more than access-to-information that is driving in/actions. So, we are increasingly focusing on the underlying challenges to success, by facilitating understanding of and alignment in culture, motivations, and incentives, especially in change environments, where the fear and stress can make folks dig-in and derail progress. In other words, our growth strategy work now brings more heart & humanity to the data and plan.
Our offices will be closed July 24-August 7.

Aside from a couple messages in the next four weeks, I plan to write you this way about once a month, sharing a couple stories of organizational and personal resilience, and opportunities to further develop it.   I hope you’ll stay on the mailing list and I look forward to staying in touch; and if you want to unsubscribe, no hard feelings.

Stay tuned and next week, I’ll share a mountains and sea vacation photo + more about the small-group, 8-week, mental-fitness coaching program I’ve really enjoyed facilitating (via zoom),and want to share with a wider audience. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing any comments or questions you might have.  Take care and have a beautiful summer🌞.
