Many of us want to give back to society, perhaps to a cause that has touched our family or friends. Being on a Board offers us the chance to leverage and hone our business skills. We can share our marketing, accounting, academic, or legal mind, maybe get some experience in strategic planning, or general management and meet some interesting people. So, we volunteer for (and get elected to) the Board. But, let’s be honest, despite our enthusiasm and best intentions, we don’t quite know our role and how to make the most impact.  Non-profit Boards, like any leadership group, have similar challenges (and solutions), across sectors. So, let’s recognize and learn from them.

Similarly, as a non-profit executive, we rarely fully leverage our Board’s potential.  Again, there are challenges common to all non-profit sectors. There are also solutions that can help us onboard, energize and keep our Board members engaged.

Since August 2018, we have offered our Board Management and Development workshop several times.  While  the in-person workshop is the most interactive and fun, the webinar version contains a few interactive exercises, and offers all the key info in a one-hour experience. We review the historical context of governance, the role of the Board of Directors, and some common challenges and solutions.  Check it out and walk away

  • with the vocabulary,
  • greater clarity and peace of mind on your role, and
  • easy ways to make your Board even more effective.

Drop me a line and I’m happy to share the link to our one-hour webinar on Non-Profit Board Service and Management , and address any questions you might have.

Thanks,
