Hello Readers,

Welcome to this time of simultaneous big changes and slowing rhythms. It’s exciting and bewildering. It’s graduation season. The grads may or not have jobs yet, all of us are thinking about a summer break and wrapping up deadlines, we might be feeling nervous, and there are things to look forward to. It’s a jumble…and it’s normal… and its life… and things will work out somehow.

My challenge to you? Don’t get lost in comparisons, do enjoy the slow down, and remember, we’re smarter than social media — we can’t compare our whole life to someone’s photoshopped highlight reel. We’re all stunning icebergs 😉, working to build the world we want to live in (check out the video below; and further on, the article link which investigates an issue of societal wellness).

But first, congratulations to our graduates!!!🎓 Congratulations to all students, family & friends support systems, and to all of us wrapping up deadlines! Enjoy the celebrations, and the seasonal slow down. Share the moments with others (while remembering your healthy social media guardrails). Remember, we’re all icebergs — 85% of the beauty and mess are below the surface. So, don’t compare your whole iceberg to someone else’s curated top 15%.

I know you know this. And I know you, like me, benefit from an occasional reminder.

Going a little deeper: We are ALL just human beings with good and bad days, messy relationships, occasionally unproductive teams, goals that present challenges, bank accounts that go up and down, etc. Your net worth is not your self worth. And the number of likes on your post is not the measure of your character. It’s easy to compare our plans and outcomes with those of others, get frustrated, and feel better or worse than. We have so many messages to set goals and achieve an outcome… and I encourage ou to throw out ideas of perfection, because context and priorities shift over time.

So, take a few deep breaths, connect to your vision, and take small steps each day, including when that step is stopping to lick wounds and assess what did and didn’t work. Remember James Clear’s book “Atomic Habits”? If you improve 1% each day, at the end of the year, you’ll have improved 37x. Whatever our age, channeling both focus and compassion, and celebrating both the lessons and small milestones is the only way to keep going strong 💪🏼 — it’s key to growth mindset.

In the vein of slowing down to ponder life, appreciate milestones achieved, and our next step to building the world we want to live in, check out

I hope you enjoy this seasonal transition, some celebration and down time, and that you remember we are all icebergs (you’re so cool and awe-inspiring!). Just in case, I’m resharing my video about all the positive effects of bringing play into our big, serious life and work goals.

Good luck navigating this crazy world and taking steps toward your audacious and petite goals. Let me know what small step you’re working on to build the world you want (your grandchildren?) to live in. You’ve got this!😊

Thanks for reading.
